There are few miter saw manufacturers on the market with the same kind of reputation or pedigree as DEWALT. You really need to see the badge to know you’re looking at a quality piece of kit. In the case of the DEWALT DW715 Compound Miter Saw, I had nothing but high expectations. Particularly given how this is a relatively pricey saw, which has pro-grade applications written all over it.
On the more technical side of things, the DEWALT DW715 Compound Miter Saw has a cutting- edge 15-amp motor under the hood and is capable of putting out an impressive 4,000 RPM.
Accuracy and flexibility are apparently the names of the game with this saw, which features that the fences are tall and slide and also its base molding supports 6-1/2″ vertically, crown molding was 5-1/4″ vertically nested. Impressive enough, but made even more so by its comparatively lightweight characteristics.
Not to mention the fact that this and all other pro power tools from DEWALT ship with a full three-year warranty for total peace of mind. In this DEWALT DW715 review, we will take a closer look at what all the actions of this saw bring to the table.

As for those all-important special features and selling points, DEWALT highlights the following as the most important for the DW715:
Smart, Powerful Design for Quick, Accurate Cuts
It may be a pro-grade piece of engineering, but the DEWALT DW715 has also been designed to make even the most complex cuts a walk in the park. Perfect for framing, molding, and most miter cutting jobs, the saw’s 4,000 RPM speed makes light work of even the toughest materials. In addition to its extensive miter capacity –0 to 50 degrees to the left and the right– maximizes its versatility.
Increased Bevel Capacity and Convenient Stops
Capable of delivering consistently clean 45-degree bevel cuts through dimensional lumber up to 2 by 8 inches, this is a saw that delivers the goods where quality bevel cuts are concerned.
Portable and Easy To Transport
DEWALT DW715 15-amp 12-inch Miter Saw may not be the lightest saw on the market, but it’s certainly one of the easiest to transport for this kind of power and performance. There’s a built-in carry handle for transporting it between job sites, while its compact design makes it easy to carry in almost any van or vehicle.
Total Peace of Mind
Backed by a reassuring three-year warranty, the DW715 is all about long-term performance and peace of mind. There’s even a no-questions-asked 90-day money-back guarantee, just in case you change your mind within the first three months.
My Experience with the DEWALT DW715
When I was handed the DEWALT DW715 Single-Bevel Compound Miter Saw to try out, I (for once) didn’t have any projects underway at home. Lucky for me, my wife always has an endless list of ideas she’s ripped from Pinterest and wants me to get on with.
So, it was a case of killing two birds with one stone, as they say! It comes complete with a carbide blade, a wrench, and a dust bag, so it’s good to go out of the box.
Tested on a bunch of hardwood boards, the way this thing tears through tough materials is outstanding. I put it through its paces with white and red oak, which is fired through like you wouldn’t believe. It’s every bit as easy to use as DEWALT says, and the cutting power is second to none.
As it tends to be a common complaint with these things, the dust collection system isn’t particularly excellent. But then again, I’m yet to come across a miter saw like this that it excels in that area, so it isn’t the end of the world.
Pros:
- Exceptional cutting power and performance
- Seriously versatile and easy to use
- Supplied complete with a high-quality 12” blade
- Ergonomic handle for comfort and safety
- Surprisingly lightweight and easy to transport
- Outstanding overall value for money
Cons:
- Dust collection capabilities a little disappointing
Final Thoughts
All in all, the DEWALT Miter Saw DW715 seems to live up to the hype. Particularly as it recently underwent a series of generous price-cuts, putting it well within reach of the average home hobbyist.
Again, you can expect the DW715 to make a bit of a mess as it has the same dust-collection imperfections as some of its siblings. Nevertheless, this isn’t nearly enough to take away from what is otherwise a seriously excellent piece of engineering from this DW715. But then again, what else would you expect?

Hey, I have read your full review and went to the product page to buy but didn’t follow it is a corded tool. At present, I am Ridgid cordless saw user. I bought that for being battery powered but it made me frustrated because it works for a very limited time. I need a heavy-duty battery-powered saw so let me know if you have a better recommendation, I will buy that early.
