Dewalt is quite a popular name in the market of power tools. Many professionals and handymen use their products to perform different industrial tasks or personal projects. The latest addition on their heavy-duty machinery list is DEWALT DCS570B cordless brushless circular saw from the manufacturer.
Earlier, cordless tools were not so handy. Thanks to Lithium-ion technology, cordless tools are getting a thrust to provide a better user experience, and these work side by side with the corded ones. The best part is that circular saws are finally applying this technology and offering the woodworkers a handful of options.
Else, we had to be stagnant with the 6-1/2 inch models for a while. Now 7-1/4 inch models are creating a lot of buzzes as the manufacturers claim it packs more power than the corded one. I didn’t believe it, though, until I used the Dewalt DCS570B Circular Saw. Want to know what my observations are? Check out my Dewalt DCS570B review below.
Features of Dewalt DCS570B Circular Saw
If you have already seen the circular saw, you probably have found some striking similarities. Basically, Dewalt DCS570B is the fraternal twin of the FlexVolt 60V circular saw. Yes, both are nearly identical but equipped with different motors.
Honestly, I expected some power loss because the Dewalt one is on the 20V platform, and not on the 60V. However, the brushless motor and other features really covered up for me. Here I have provided the list of features of this circular saw. Have a look.
Brushless Motor with 5200 RPM
Dewalt has incorporated a powerful brushless motor that runs at 5200 RPM. So, no matter what material you are cutting, this motor’s power-packed performance will do every task with ease. Moreover, the motor is sturdy enough to pull off any heavy-duty job.
Plus, the durability feature of the brushless motor is amazing. I’ve been using this for the past 3 years, and it gives the same performance every time.
Easy Adjustments
The aluminum shoe is pretty durable and easily adjustable as well. You can smoothly adjust both the bevel angle and the depth of the cut. DEWALT DCS570B comes with detents on the bevel adjustments at 45 degrees and 22.5 degrees.
Actually, I have used saws that additionally need a wrench to make any adjustments. But with this circular saw, you can do it with one hand only. Therefore does not require putting the tool in a workspace for making adjustments.
Ergonomic Rubber Molded Handle
The ergonomic design and the rubber molded handle is one of the main USPs of DEWALT DCS570B. Actually, you will love the handles of DeWalt’s cordless tools. The reason is simple; it adjusts in your hand very nicely, giving you a firm grip.
Additionally, it comes with a support handle named pommel. The pommel significantly reduces the extra strain on your wrist while cutting. One thing that I personally didn’t like is the push in trigger safety feature.
Push-down style safety goes better with me. Though it’s only about creating two different motions to engage the trigger, I think push-in safety is a bit tough to defeat. However, it is what it is! You may actually like the push-in trigger.
Electronic Blade Brake
The Dewalt brushless motor has blade breaks, which aren’t mechanical but electronic. This feature makes it convenient to instantly stop the motor as soon as you see any risk of injury or damaging your workpiece. Along with that, the blade bra ensures a smooth and precise cut with high accuracy.
Be it a thick or thin wood sheet; the 7-¼ inch blade will do exactly what it is meant to. This blade is capable of providing 2-9/16 inch cutting capacity at a 90-degree angle. In addition to that, you can also make 57-degree bevel cuts. The positive stops at 45 and 22.5 render amazing versatility.
My Experience with Dewalt DCS570B
I have been using this powerful tool for the last 3 years. Starting from industrial to home projects, I have used it to cut different types of materials. It could perfectly make crosscuts and rip cuts on plywood, PT, MDF, even no rough lumber.
In the initial days, I worked with this circular saw on 1/2 inch plywood. I was really glad to see its performance. I mean, if any saw stumbles upon cutting such a thin sheet, you must throw it away. Hopefully, this is not the case with Dewalt DCS570B 20V Max Circular Saw.
Next, I tried cutting through 3/4-inch plywood, and the saw maintained its quality along with unbelievable speed. This when I thought, definitely, it works better than the same level corded saws.
It worked perfectly on 2×6 lumber, which confirmed that Dewalt DCS570B is a strong and valuable contender in the class of 18V/20V Max. Now coming to bevel cuts, the positive stop at 45 amazed me with its easiness of bevel adjustment. Plus, the detents are also so easy to use.
I made 45-degree cuts on PT. The end result left me with such an impression that this cordless saw with a brushless motor is highly capable of replacing your corded saw and even without any kind of performance trade-off. Lithium-ion batteries are a kind of mini powerhouse.
You can easily finish your one day’s tasks with a single charge. Moreover, if you push the limits and make it work for your loaded schedule, it won’t disappoint you at all. If you want a feature-rich, multiple-utility saw, I will definitely recommend the Dewalt DCS570B circular saw.
